About Me

I am an outdoorsman and Nature lover who has been blessed with freedom and a few useful talents. I am grateful to have been taught generously by my family, friends and colleagues who have enabled me to discover a sense of purpose and belonging. Presently, I am a Ph.D. Candidate in the Cognitive and Brain Sciences (CAB) Psychology Program at the University of Minnesota, and I feel very fortunate to be part of the vision science community.

Matlab

Matlab has become a standard research tool in science and engineering.

To name a few of its abilities, Matlab can:

Many psychology students must use Matlab for class and research. Students with little or no prior programming experience struggle to learn Matlab programming. Since 2005, I have provided Matlab instruction and consulting to fill this need. From 2005 to 2007, I taught free Matlab seminars to students and faculty. Example code developed from the course is archived here and at the link below.

Topics introduced are statistical analysis, graphing, importing/exporting formatted data, univariate and bivariate data analysis, regression and GUI programming, multivariate data reduction and analysis, optimization, and spline toolbox examples.
